About Me

Hi, I am Zoha Hamid, and I'm currently a second-year undergrad in Computer Science and Engineering at IIIT-Delhi. I like experimenting with new technologies, with a proclivity towards interlinking computer science, social science and biology, among other domains. I enjoy working on problems for social good.
In my free time, you can find me indulging in a leisurely cup of tea or a hot bowl of noodles, and reading books. I am also passionate about poetry, my first love.

    PreCog@IIITD is a group of researchers who study, analyze, and build different aspects of social systems(e.g. social web systems like Twitter, Facebook), including their security and privacy. By understanding and measuring complex networks, we try and build solutions for social good. It has an amazing number of awards and certifications to its name.
    Our work primarily derives from Data Science, Computational Social Science, Social Computing, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing.

    Research and Information System for Developing Countries, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt Of India

    Research work on Genetically Modified crops and their impact on Indian economy, studied datasets and drew up relevant statistics in a team of four at RIS, Govt of India.

    Projects

    Some projects I have developed and contributed to:

    iDabba: A Smart Container
  • Developed a smart box that can relay information about any object kept inside it: the weight and surrounding conditions like temperature and humidity content. It also identifies what the object is.
  • Technologies involved: HAAR classifiers in openCV, Sift Detection, and Microsoft’s Computer Vision API and developed on Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

  • The project was among the top 10 in the whole batch and was featured in our institute Director’s blog.
  • MapCal
  • Developed a Telegram chatbot which identifies the food item you are eating via image analysis and Machine Learning algorithms, keeps track of the calorie, fat and protein distribution of your food intake through the day and presents the information in a visual timeline form.
  • Featured amongst the top 10 projects on Devpost, WhenHub Hackathon and awarded “Honorable Mention” along with goodies. You can see the project here along with a video of the working of the chatbot.
  • Laiwyer: Know your Penal Code
  • Developed a smart chat-bot that helps the user solve his/her urgent legal queries. Main aim while building Laiwyer was to allow every citizen to look up the Indian Penal Code easily and efficiently. It is a query management system, wherein the user can interact with our bot and ask questions pertaining to any legality, situation or even specific laws. The bots are available on Skype, Slack and Telegram messaging services. You can watch the working here.
  • Was one of the top 16 finalists out of 524 teams. Invited to present the prototype at the Jaipur education festival, JECC, Jaipur.
  • Game Development on Arduino
  • A set of four games, implemented on Arduino IDE using an LED Display. The full project description and documentation can be found here.
